ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
TOMASINA ABATE (Karen) Fourth time channeling Emma. I’ve been with FTR since the wall came down at The Rockwell w/Hughes, Scorsese, Marshalls, Tarantino, Baz. Being back in “the wig” at The Wallis for Christmas is home. My thing is my band, TOMASINA. GNR, Maiden, Zeppelin, Beastie Boys. Nothing gets me pumped like dude rock. In theater, I’m usually the vixen. Velma Kelly, Sally Bowles, Lucy Harris, Sheila Bryant, Magenta. Oh yes, I was once a princess (Pocahontas) but now I’m a queen! My voice still fills the air at Dland with leads, laughs and harmonies in “The Frightfully Fun Parade” and I just made a short original music film “Cautionary Tale” creating awareness for suicide among LGBTQ+ youth. Once, I asked a little girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she answered “a person like you”. At that moment I realized what my most important role was.
